We had to get up by 6am and out the door by 6:30am- not usually my idea of fun- but this was pretty cool and worth it for one morning. They took off at Memorial Park (right by Dave's work) and then some would dip down to the lake and their basket would touch the water- to the cheers of the very large crowd.
You can see Garden of the Gods in the background below the blue balloon- it looked so cool with the sun shining on it, and with the sun on the tops of the mountains too- an early morning view I don't normally see.
