4th of July

watching Nathan's Hotdog Eating Contest on TV

Gram helped the boys make a jello flag cake- it has become Zachary's all time favorite cake- I think he has had 4 pieces a day.

We spent a few hours at Rock Ledge Ranch. It is right next to Garden of the Gods and is an old historic ranch. They had a band playing, people dressed in era clothing, demonstrating washing clothes, blacksmith, etc, carnival games, & wagon rides. It is a neat ranch and we had fun although it was a bit hot- a thermometer on the way home said 99degrees.

I can never resist taking lots of pictures of my cute kids!!!

We ate dinner at home then went to a church right by our house that had fun bounce house and games for the kids

They also handed out boxes of the pop rocks that you throw on the ground and they make a popping sound. The kids had fun with those. Lexi of course wanted in on the fun too. she did not throw it hard enough to pop so we would go step on them after she threw them. She then started throwing it and immediately would stomp her foot (not really stepping on it, but she thought that's what you do). Later we drove about 10 min. from home up on a hill and watched about 5 different firework shows around town. We saw quite a show just driving to them- the whole town was setting off their own although it was supposedly illegal.
