The boys have just gotten into playing games on the computer. Disney.com has some great ones they like- pooh, mickey and stanley. It still amazes me all they can do on a computer at age 3 & 5 since I am still learning myself. The day is not too far away when they will be teaching me things on it. Josh's kindergarten class goes to the computer lab once a week.
A good friend and past roommate of mine lives in Denver and came down to visit us last Fri. She has two boys so added to my two boys you can imagine the male energy in the house (and thankfully the yard) It certainly got them ready for their naps later in the day. It was great to have them here. You can see Joan gets the award for fun mom- pulling them in the wagon and playing baseball- someone had to take the photos. And anyone with kids knows it is near impossible to get five little ones looking at the camera at the same time (but one or two would have been nice- oh well).
Meeting dad for lunch at Prospect lake. Only 2 minutes from his office and only 15 min. from our house. The weather has been so great.

I thought I had come upon the next animal exhibit until I was told that this was a wild deer, not in fact part of the zoo. Who knew?
We got to feed the giraffes which was very cool. Inside, which meant warm, but stinky! I think Dave enjoyed it even more than the boys. They were a bit timid with the giraffes getting so close to them.
A couple weeks ago we had been invited to a birthday party at the zoo on the 21st (at that time who would have guessed it would have been snowing for hours prior to leaving) This was driving to the zoo thinking "this seems a bit crazy to be going to the zoo in this kind of weather."
However, it turned out to be a beautiful time to see the zoo. It is part way up a mountain and has fantastic views of the city. The snow on the trees was so pretty.

Definitely needed to bundle up a bit. The gift shop was nice and warm & has great hot chocolate!

Lexi was a real trooper and didn't complain at all about getting into that big, puffy, constricting outfit (I had to loosen her carseat belts quite a bit) or being out in the cold. I guess she will make it as a Colorado girl just fine.
The boys had a great day in the snow and we had some good laughs watching and listening to them. When Zachary woke up and saw the snow, I asked him, "what's that?" He said "um, it's raining?" and later told Aunt Doe that it was white rain. Josh saw it and said "wow, cool!" They immediately, PJ's or not wanted to go out in it. We had made the mistake when we first came here of telling the boys that we would get to see snow here in Colorado, but first it would be Halloween, then Thanksgiving and then at Christmastime it would snow. So one of the next things they said was - "Is Santa here?" "Where's my presents". A little while later I could hear them out back yelling "It's Christmas Eve!" Later, I stepped out on the balcony to take more photos (I think I took about 60 photos today, plus some videocam time) a car horn honked and Zachary yelled up to me, "Happy New Year, mom!" The snow immediately threw them into Christmas and New Years- I guessed we sort of messed them up on that one! They could have spent all day out there playing- there was snowball fights, running, eating snow, playing house and work and bears. We had to make them come in every couple hours to warm up and dry off a bit. They had red little noses and faces, but were loving every minute of it. At one point I did not see them in the yard so I stepped out and called to them. They emerged from under the balcony and said they had found "suckers" and they were really good. Their first discovery of icesicles.
