MLK- Monday

We decided to spend Monday checking out an area of Colorado we had yet to see- southeast of us in the La Junta area. We decided to start out heading east through Ellicot, Yoder, Rush, to Punkin center and then head south to Rocky Ford. (with all three kids squished into the back of the civic, mind you) Bad idea. It was a LONG drive and the most exciting things to look at being tons of tumbleweeds and a pretty good dust storm. 2 hours of our life we need never to repeat. (We took a different route home through Pueblo which was shorter and a LITTLE more interesting scenery)

We finally made it to Rocky Ford and stopped there at a park to have our picnic.

Then headed a little more east to La Junta.
We stopped by this fort, did not tour it but just got out and looked around. It was impossible to hold the camera still for photos- it was SOOOOOO windy. (and dusty)
So it definitely was something different to do, but as far as I am concerned, all the town names you saw on this post- no need to spend much time there if at all. (My camera is not taking very good pictures, of course it could be due in part to the photographer who knows very little of what she does, BUT, I think we have other problems and could be in part to all the little hands that grab and sometimes drop it, and even dropped by mom when she is trying to juggle squirming kids while taking a picture- I am bummed)
