We got ours at Walmart this year (the other 2 youngins had fallen asleep in the car) and rather than cut through the twine, shake it out, turn it around, look it over, only to do that over and over to find the right tree- we took our chances and just picked a tallish, fullish, rolled up one and hoped for the best.

We also took the easier route of just stuffing it inside the van (needles to be picked up later) rather than get out the rope, Dave & I pretending that we know what we are doing and pray that it would actually stay on the roof until we made it home. The 2 sleeping beauties awoke to this sight and weren't quite sure what was going on.

Good thing we took the easy route on the past 2 decisions because we ran into some problems getting it set up. A quick, let's just put it in the stand and put it up took a few hours. We couldn't find anything to make a fresh cut with, the stand we had bought after christmas last year was a tad too small for the base to fit in so Dave and Josh ran to walmart to buy another one, then it took forever to get the thing actually standing semi-straight. So the furthest we got was putting the lights on before bedtime, but they had fun doing that.
