Most Miserable 2 Days

Time with Mom
I debated putting these photos on- Zach wont appreciate it later, but I couldn't pass it up. Josh did this too, but fortunately (or unfortunately) at the time we didn't have a blog for all to see. The boys call it "painting" And an additional Zach quote from this evening- Josh was drawing a picture of a cow and when he showed it to me I said- wow, I'm so impressed! Well, a bit later Zach, trying out his newly learned word said, "Josh why don't you draw another picture and me and mom will be depressed".

Zachisms
Zach, being our talker comes up with some funny stuff. Some of his latest-
We were at the park and Josh started playing with another kid. I guess Zach was trying to play with them too and it was not working out too well. He came back to me and said, "They think I'm just a boring kid". I asked if they had said that to him and he said no. I don't know where he got that from.
In the car one day said, "You go right ahead and worry about us" Not sure where that came from or why. Maybe he meant to say you don't have to worry about us?
He came up to me in the kitchen and said "mom, listen up, bad guys are dangerous and I'm going to get them with my rope" (holding dad's belt)
And this one I have a faint idea where he may have heard it before. Lexi was fussing and he said, "What's your problem, Lexi?"
This past week-end was beautiful weather. Sunny and warm but still fallish weather. Sat. I had to go to Castle Rock about 40 min. north to close our bank accounts at Washington Mutual since that is the closest one to here. And since I was already there I had to check out the outlet mall there. I found some good boots for myself. I may need them one of these days coming up. Yesterday our friends from Texas- the Scruggs (or Jen Tucker to some) got here- they have four kids (one just a month old) and there has been some noise, mess and lots and lots of fun going on. This morning the fun with the five kids started at about 6am in the basement. (But there was a time change yesterday). I will get some pictures up soon.

Errand Buddies
These are my little errand running buddies while Josh is at school. I have realized #1- Zachary talks- A LOT! (made more apparent here where Josh is gone for almost 7 hours and there are no grandparents or anyone else to listen to him- only mom) and #2- Lexi is usually very happy if we are out and about doing things- it's at home whenever I am trying to get anything done that she is a nightmare. If I am out any good amount of time it is very likely that one or both of these little guys falls asleep making it a bit harder to go into places. I have to be careful about the time we go out and how many errands we do. By the way, Lexi is 9 months old today! I can't believe it.

Candy, Candy, Candy
Even Cheetah girl was very interested in the candy. But it was like a cruel trick because her hands were enclosed in the paws of the costume. She gave it her best try though!

Halloween Night
It was a very cold evening. A lot of people have said the last couple years here have been that way- the day before and after are very nice and a lot warmer, but Halloween has been cold. And this was our first year taking the boys out door to door. In the past we have gone to the fall festival at church and thought about finding a church here doing that however we were also told that because it is so cold- they do them all indoors and it is so packed that you can barely walk. Didn't sound like too much fun. Dave stayed home to pass out candy (with a warm fire going) and I went out with the kids. They got into it pretty quickly. After the first house Zach said, "that was fun!" And after the first street Zach, walking quickly to the next house says, "We're not done with this job yet!" However by the end of the second street both boys were tired and saying that this was hard work. (They never complained about being cold) So lucky for Lexi and I we weren't out more than an hour.

Halloween Day
Even Dad got in the spirit (although he said he was very underdressed at work)
Josh had a party at school with a movie and goodies and family could come too. (that's his teacher in the pink sweatshirt)
Josh's friends he talks the most about- Heidi and Julian.
The siblings meet friends and make a mess.

Computer Games
The boys have just gotten into playing games on the computer. Disney.com has some great ones they like- pooh, mickey and stanley. It still amazes me all they can do on a computer at age 3 & 5 since I am still learning myself. The day is not too far away when they will be teaching me things on it. Josh's kindergarten class goes to the computer lab once a week.

A Visit from Joan
A good friend and past roommate of mine lives in Denver and came down to visit us last Fri. She has two boys so added to my two boys you can imagine the male energy in the house (and thankfully the yard) It certainly got them ready for their naps later in the day. It was great to have them here. You can see Joan gets the award for fun mom- pulling them in the wagon and playing baseball- someone had to take the photos. And anyone with kids knows it is near impossible to get five little ones looking at the camera at the same time (but one or two would have been nice- oh well).

Last week
Meeting dad for lunch at Prospect lake. Only 2 minutes from his office and only 15 min. from our house. The weather has been so great.

More Zoo Shots
I thought I had come upon the next animal exhibit until I was told that this was a wild deer, not in fact part of the zoo. Who knew?

Giraffe Feeding
We got to feed the giraffes which was very cool. Inside, which meant warm, but stinky! I think Dave enjoyed it even more than the boys. They were a bit timid with the giraffes getting so close to them.
